The Lion Path and Reaching Higher Worlds:
The Earth's planetary Lion Path Cycle began more than twenty years ago on October 26, 1984.
As each initiate of the Lion Path underwent the sessions of the planetary Path during those years,
his or her higher, nonmolecular body was being formed.
This body is composed of an other-than-molecular substance which is subject to neither death nor decay, and exists in the bardo of our earth. But all of us, however, have unique soul desires and aspirations that could lead us to one of a number of different worlds that it is possible to reach after life on earth. So from now on the sessions of the Path becomes much more personal, stressing individual development. Each initiate's molecular body on earth has an active connecting link with his or her nonmolecular body. What we now have to do is to learn how to function in our higher bodies, and we will receive help and guidance, probably when the conscious mind is dormant during sleep. Listening to The Lords of Shambhala tape on the days of the new or full Moon will help stimulate this learning experience. At other times, you might also find it helpful tolisten to The Pleromic Journey before going to sleep, as this may help you to make a connection with your higher body during the night. Such connections are most likely to take place in a dream or dreams. Perhaps you will remember some of them, and perhaps not. If you cannot recall any unusual dreams during this time period, do not worry about it, as the awareness and use of the faculties of your higher body would then be subtly growing on a deeper level of awareness than that of the ordinary, conscious mind. We do not need to know how the process of digestion works in order to eat, and likewise, we do not need to know everything with our conscious minds as we proceed on this stage of the Path. Musaios described the higher body in the bardo thus: "Once a candidate has traversed the Lion Path and completed the connection with the Pleromic Mercury power (that alone can enable functioning of the new senses and awareness of his or her higher body), s/he can be actively awake in the bardo and able to perform shamanic actions such as healing others on earth … another positive aspect is that one's memories of the Path, as well as the knowledge, capabilities and power that one has actualized through walking it, are retained both in this specially empowered bardo-body and in any [subsequent] incarnation on a molecular world. The Lion Path candidate continues to be empowered as his or her molecular body retains its conscious connec-tion with the higher body [after rebirth]." Thus the second stage of this learning process involves acquiring the kinds of skills that will enable us to operate in higher worlds. As you will recall, our planet earth is a Pluto type of world. In the Glossary (see heading "Types of World") it is explained that every life-bearing planet in the cosmos, such as our earth, is a type of world, meaning that it is a world in which a specific kind of power is the dominant force behind both the types of activities and the psychology of its inhabitants. There are 35 such types of worlds, and our earth corresponds to the Pluto-type, or the tenth type of world. This means that the raw plutonic psychological desire to transform or destroy is stronger in the inhabitants of this type of world than on any other type. And the desire for transformation is a two-edged sword - the choices are simply degeneration through self-destructiveness and harming others, or regeneration, opting for self-transformation towards greater love and wisdom. Now the Pluto worlds, our planet being one of them, have a more powerful kind of link to certain other types of world than others. Therefore it is only to these kinds of worlds that we may transfer after we have completed our lives here on earth. Following the years of the earth's Lion Path, any Lion Path initiate on our planet has eight possible choices of destination. Each Lion Path initiate will decide for his- or herself their future destination, depending on the deepest desires within their souls. Yet to help us activate these choices, and to learn how to travel from earth's bardo to the world of future incarnation, we will need teachers from other worlds to help us perfect the skills discussed below to the levels of mastery we would need to navigate in another world. These teachers will be there for us, even though we may not necessarily often be in direct contact with them. They may more usually guide us in less visible ways through the kinds of situations they precipitate us into. Though we can trust them to always be there with invisible or even visible help if we need it, and we can be sure they will not place us in situations that are too difficult for us to handle. They are the wisest, kindest and most expert of teachers, and they test us simply so that we may become sufficiently grounded in the kinds of wisdom and behaviour we must have for the higher world of our soul choice. The first of the eight Lion Path soul choices is to seek incarnation on a world of type 14, or Venus-Sothic - which entails a bardo-jump of four types of world from earth. Venus-Sothic worlds are similar to Pluto worlds in that they abound with energies for self-transformation. Yet all inhabitants of such worlds desire most strongly to love more, and in particular, to express such love through a partner they deeply care for. Thus the desire for personal love, the love of a mate in particular, is the most prominent characteristic of beings in such worlds. Therefore Lion Path initiates whose deepest soul desire is such love will naturally gravitate towards a Venus-Sothic world for their next incarnation. This means that during the remainder of their earth-lives, they will learn enough of the lessons of intermediary worlds so that they can function effectively on a Venus-Sothic world. (The intermediate worlds are types 11, 12 and 13 - Pan, Vulcan and Horus, which teach the lessons of how to construct lasting and worthwhile things [Pan], how to precipitate changes [white magic = Vulcan] and purging one's deepest subconscious mind of traits that block love [Horus]. The second of these eight choices is to reach a world of type 15 (Saturn-Sothic), or to jump five types of world from earth. Those who choose this type of world have the soul dream of learning how to consistently act in a loving and wise way - learning to put love into action and to become totally reliable in this respect. If this is your soul choice then you will need to have sufficiently learned the lessons of world-types 11 through 14 whilst still on earth. There are several ways in which the Venus-Sothic lesson might be learned here. Perhaps you have already been fortunate enough to have experienced (or to still have) a relationship of mutual joy and inner growth. Perhaps your current relationship was once like this, and you will find yourself able to rekindle it on even deeper levels than before. Those who are alone might find new relationships coming their way. It is even possible that some people, who would not otherwise ever encounter each other on earth, meet in dreams or over the astral plane. The third of the eight soul choices is to reach a world of type 16 (Sun-Sothic), or to jump six types of world from earth. People choose a Sun-Sothic incarnation when their soul dream is to learn how to connect with their deepest self-nature [the solar strand of the self] and to manifest that kind of higher awareness and creativity. If this is your choice, you will have to learn the lessons of world-types 11-15 on earth. This would include all the above skills and the lesson of Saturn-Sothic worlds as well: being in trying situations that may well get you down at times, but retaining one's ideals, good will and intentions, as well as the ability to effectively help others. The fourth of the eight soul-choices is to reach a world of type 17 (Moon-Sothic). This is for people who, having already managed to activate intermittently higher states of consciousness, wish to develop the lunar strand of the self (what we call the personality, or ordinary, everyday consciousness) so that it is powerful enough to sustain a permanent union with the higher self. Those who wish to reincarnate in a Moon-Sothic world must master all the lessons of world-types 11-16 during life on earth. The skill of Solar-Sothic worlds is learning how to trigger higher states of consciousness and creativity. The fifth of the eight Lion Path soul choices is to incarnate on a Mercury-Sothic world, type 19. Those who want such an incarnation would be people whose deepest soul desire is for great knowledge - they wish to understand the how and the why of the cosmos as it exists, and to understand the potential of all life to become something greater than it is. If such a world is your choice, you must learn not only the lessons of intermediary worlds 11-16, but also those of the world-types 17 (Moon-Sothic) and 18 (Mars-Sothic) while still on earth. Moon-Sothic worlds teach how to keep a channel and connection between the higher and the lower self constantly open. You will know if you have mastered this if you can maintain a happy, joyous and hopeful consciousness under all conditions. You will be able to detect the seeds of unhappy or angry moods as they begin to emerge, and to arrest and dissolve them. Actually this skill is a higher developmental stage of Venus-Sothic worlds, because the solar and lunar sides of the self have to be joined to achieve this self-mastery. When the inner male and female selves are re-joined, it is like making an eternal marriage within oneself. Happiness and blissful states of consciousness are naturally and perpetually generated within you - they no longer depend upon the presence of a significant other or the right mate in your life. This does not mean that people no longer seek out relationships, but rather that they can more easily attract the best partner, being able to wait and be happy until the right person comes along. The lesson of Mars-Sothic worlds is to take the ability to maintain cheerfulness and equanimity under all circumstances one stage further. It is one thing to passively and contentedly endure a less than optimal state of affairs, and another to learn how to turn around any situation for the better: dissolving potentially harmful repercussions of a situation, or even better, creating active good out of a difficulty. You learn to help others in a more impersonal way - not confining help to those you personally like, but seeing the good even in those you don't particularly like on a personal level and helping them to bring out their best qualities. The sixth of the eight Lion Path soul choices is to incarnate on a Jupiter-Sothic world (type 20). Those who wish to incarnate on this type of world are beginning to put the Mercury-Sothic kind of wisdom they have acquired to practical use. On this kind of a world, the desire is to use the wisdom to create as harmonious as possible an environment on the level of the physical world. This means expertly handled ecology, and expert maintenance and healing of the physical body amongst other things. If you wish to reach such a world in your next incarnation, then you must learn all the lessons of world types 11-18, as well as have some interest in the higher mysteries. The seventh of the eight soul choices is to incarnate on a Uranus-Sothic world (type 21). The inhabitants of this kind of world most deeply desire to use their wisdom to create as harmonious as possible a life and environment on the psychic and psychological level. This means they extend their ecological activities into the realm of real communion with and understanding of all animal life-forms on their planets. Thus all humans there (only those of shamanic potential or ability have it here on earth) have animal allies and really can understand and communicate with other species. They also have great skill as healers, healing illnesses or the seeds of illness from the level of the psyche. This is even more powerful than healing from the physical level, as it is possible to relieve symptoms temporarily, but to have them recur if they are rooted in some psychic malaise. If your deepest soul desire is to be reborn on this type of a world, then while on earth you must master to a sufficient degree the skills of worlds 11-19, and also those of a Jupiter-Sothic world. Most of us here on earth have little say in the ecology of our communities, but we can do the most to maintain our physical health. We can adopt the best, most sensible diet and exercise program for our personal needs and life, and keep ourselves informed about all health options. Alternative medicines and therapies such as reflexology and Reiki level I, to mention two examples (there are others), resonate strongly to a Jupiter-Sothic type of world. The eighth and final soul choice after this incarnation is to leap 22 types of world and reach the bardo of a world of type 32. This kind of world has minimal predatory tendencies in its ecology - the ecology is almost entirely symbiotic, with hardly any disease, long length of life and very slow, minimal aging. Musaios wrote about this type of world and the deep changes in attitudes and assumptions we would have to undergo to reach it in The Shamanic Lion Path: "The degree of predation in a molecular world-type is inevitably reflected in appropriate degree in the bardo of that world, for example, predation as a natural way of life is reflected in the Red Indian tradition of "the Happy Hunting Grounds". Thus the bardo of our earth is a mirror image of the earth before it was spoiled and ruined by human technology." The outstanding characteristic of people on worlds of type-32 is that they learn how to direct healing force from an even deeper level of consciousness than the psychic level. They heal at the deepest level of the soul itself, the ultimate source of all disease and psychic disturbance. Their type of healing involves learning how to maintain the soul's health, which means correcting any disturbances in the heliacal spiral of consciousness where the solar and lunar sides of the self interweave, and ensuring that there are frequent enough points of contact between the two. Once inhabitants of these worlds have learned how to maintain permanent soul health (and to help others to do likewise), then they are ready for incarnation in a world-type 33 - a completely non-predatory world. But we are getting a bit ahead of ourselves. If your deepest soul desire is to incarnate on a world of type-32 then you must prove yourself sufficiently adept in the skills of world types 11-21 during your earth life. This involves learning the skills of a Uranus-Sothic world as well as all the other kinds listed above. The special characteristic of inhabitants of Uranus-Sothic worlds is their deepest soul desire: to become expert healers on the psychological or psychic level. This means that they strive to make themselves and their environment as harmonious as possible within the limits of the symbiotic/predatory mixture of the planet's ecology. Not only do they learn to keep physical diseases to a minimum by powerful psychological techniques (preventive psychic medicines, so to speak), but they also heal themselves from psychic disorders by close communion and interaction with animal, bird and insect species. In these worlds the discontin-uity of consciousness between humans and animals is healed. Everyone can reach out and find their animal allies, feel what they feel, and understand what they have to teach. Much of the conflict between animals and humans that we experience on earth vanishes in worlds of the Uranus-Sothic type. Humans and animals live side by side in much greater harmony than would be possible on lower world types, because the harmony is based on attaining complete psychic understanding of each other. (This should not be so hard for us to imagine because even on our earth, certain therapists have repeatedly demonstrated the powerful healing effects of animals upon emotionally disturbed and even autistic children.) So what should we do on earth to master a sufficient level of these Uranus-Sothic skills? A good start is to decide to be responsible for our own psychological health - making sure we have as good a balance of work and relaxation as possible in our lives, not giving negative people opportunities to drain us, and practicing techniques that will help us maintain psychic health, such as regular meditation, relaxing hobbies that take us out of ourselves, and/or other psychic cleansing techniques such as Reiki level II, or self-hypnosis. We are all unique individuals, so we must all find the ways that work best for us. Another way in which we can help attune ourselves to a Uranus-Sothic world is to modify our attitudes to animals. Almost all of us will have been taught to regard ourselves as being better than animals - some religions teach that only human beings have souls, and others disparage animals as well by teaching that only in human form can enlightenment be attained. We can unravel these often deep subconscious attitudes towards other species by loving more (which dissolves prejudice) and by treating animals we encounter (whether they share our lives or otherwise) as beings with feelings, needs and qualities to be respected. We should critically evaluate ourselves to see if we are at all selfish in our attitudes towards our pets (are we perhaps unconsciously using them as psychological crutches, and not respecting their rights, choices and preferences?). Once we truly learn to see them as friends with their own wisdom to teach (and not simply objects or possessions), then we will find that our joy and positive feedback from them increase many times over. People whose life-style doesn't permit living alongside an animal(s) but who deeply want to increase their psychic awareness of other species may find animal allies arising on the astral plane. Wherever there is a will, there is a way. Of course, before anyone can incarnate on a world of type-32, that person must have acquired all the skills of intermediate worlds 11-31. But it is not necessary to accomplish all this in the remainder of our lives on earth. It is enough if we can master sufficient skills to navigate in world types 11-21 (i.e. through Uranus-Sothic). If we can do this, then, in our higher bodies, we will be shown the way to make the journey to a bardo of world-type 32. From within that bardo we would then learn the skills of world-types 22-31 before incarnation on a type-32 world. (For those who are interested, some skills of such worlds are briefly described in chapter 2 of Access.) All of us on the Path, whatever soul choice we have made at the end of our current lives, shall in time reach a world of type-32 and beyond. Some of us will do this over several incarnations, while others will need less time. It is possible for a soul to incarnate first on a Venus-Sothic world (type 14), then a Mars-Sothic world (type 18), next on a Neptune-Sothic world (type 22), then a Horus-Sothic world (type 26) and then, on their fifth incarnation after earth, to reach a world of type 32. In many people soul desires will shift more gradually than in others, and we should trust the Path to take us where we really need and want to go. It is wiser is make changes slowly and surely than to run too rashly towards a goal one has grasped in one's mind, but can not yet live up to in one's heart and abilities. |
